This Medication Training course is aimed at staff who are responsible for the handling, administrating and disposal of medication within a care environment. 

The Medication Training will aim to improve the knowledge of the different types of medication, the various routes, the 6 R’s, errors and using correct documentation.

About this course

  • The legislative framework for medication administration in social care

  • Common types of medication, their effects and side effects

  • The different routes for administration of medicines

  • Routes to medication

  • How to promote the individuals rights

  • How to record legibly and accurately medication records

  • How and when to report concerns relating to medication

The COURSE training is a half day course – 9:30 – 1:30 or afternoon 12.30  – 4.30 including refreshment breaks.

Refreshments included, hot/cold drinks and biscuits. 

 

The training session is vital for all staff working within a Social Care environment administering or managing any form of medication.
