Course Overview

This Medication Training course is aimed at staff who are responsible for the handling, administrating and disposal of medication within a care environment. 

The Medication Training will aim to improve the knowledge of the different types of medication, the various routes, the 6 R’s, errors and using correct documentation.

About this course

  • Legal framework for the administration of medication

  • Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Safe Administration of Medication 

  • Common medication uses and effects, and side effects

  • Routes and Medication Absorption 

  • Storage and Disposal

  • Recording and Reporting 

The COURSE training is a half-day course and can be either 

Mornings – 9:30 – 1:30 

Afternoon 12.30  – 4.30 

Refreshments provided,  Drinks, hot and cold drinks, biscuits. 

All staff administering medication as part of their role. 

 
  • Competency Assessment
  • Physiological Measurements, blood pressure; Sugar Level and Temperature
